HOW TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR ART
FINE ART PRINTS
1. Unroll it carefully: Use two hands to unroll the print slowly and gently. Avoid bending which will cause creases or wrinkles.
2. Flatten the print: Place the print on a flat surface with weights (books) on the edges to flatten it. Leave it like that for a day or two to allow it to straighten out before framing.
3. Storage: If you need to store the print before framing, wrap it in acid-free tissue paper (or glassine) to prevent it from sticking or rubbing against other surfaces. Keep it in the tube provided, away from direct sunlight, heat, or moisture.
4. Avoid touching the print: Handle the print with clean hands or wear gloves while touching it. This will prevent dirt, scratches, or fingerprints from damaging the print.
5. Keep it dry: Please ensure that the print does not come in contact with water or any damp surface. Avoid hanging it in a bathroom or a humid room.
Once you have taken care of the above points, your print should be ready to frame!
ORIGINAL PAINTINGS
1. Keep Away from Direct Sunlight: Prolonged exposure to sunlight can cause colors to fade. Display your painting in a spot with soft, indirect light.
2. Avoid Moisture and Extreme Temperatures: Maintain a stable environment, avoiding areas with high humidity, heat, or cold to protect the paint and canvas.
3. Dust Gently: Use a soft, dry microfiber cloth to remove dust. Never use water, cleaning sprays, or abrasive materials.
4. Handle with Clean Hands: Always ensure your hands are clean and dry when moving or touching the painting to avoid oils or dirt transferring to the surface.
5. Frame Protection: If the painting is framed, ensure the frame remains secure and dust-free. Periodically check the hardware for stability.
6. Consult a Professional: For deep cleaning, framing or restoration, consult a professional art conservator to avoid damaging the artwork.
With proper care, your original painting will continue to inspire and captivate for generations to come!
